How to Fake a Great Tan
With Spring literally right around the corner we thought that you might like a look into bronzers. As far as we are concerned, it is never too early or too late in the year to use a bronzer. In fact, we recommend a bronzer all year round!
You’ll probably find that there are three primary types of bronzers that most woman look for:
- bronzers for a sun-kissed glow,
- bronzers to generate gold speckles
- Extreme bronzers
The very best bronzer for a fresh, summer time glow may take some experimenting until your find the one right for you. Girliemom will highlight a few of our favorites and show you the ones that we feel will help you fake a great tan.
Guerlain Terracotta Light (sheer bronzing powder)
One of our personal favorites! This bronzer contains a beautiful mosaic that allows you to adjust the color to the depth you want which is perfect for us NY gals that have the 4 seasons! What I like about this product is that it also contains an illuminizer so you achieve that perfect glow on your skin. This product will set you back about $50. If you prefer to skip the mosaic and go for gusto you can also go for this.

Laura Mercier Bronzing Duo Pin ItMy personal favorite for oh so many years, Girliemom has been swearing by Laura Mercier products for many years because the products are wonderful and they last all day. Her Bronzing Duo’s come in a variety of shades from coral and pink which will sit aside the bronzer itself delivering a beautiful bronze/blush glow all in one punch. If you prefer to skip the duo you can simply choose to go for her bronzing pressed powder which is equally as wonderful. This product will run you about $32. Philosophy Divine Color Blushing Bronzer Pin It
If you are looking for a more affordable option you can go with this selection by Philosophy available on QVC. This will cost you around $25. We wrote about our affections with this product once before. You can read about it here.
Hoola Bronzing Powder – by Benefit Pin It
So we generally only feature 3 products in the Beauty & Style Reports but we just couldn’t help ourselves! This personal favorite is another product that is super affordable $28. We simply love how Hoola is packaged and it also comes with a very nice brush (one you won’t toss in the garbage, we promise!). When you apply this soft dusting powder you will receive in return a nice tan glow that will never look fake. If you want a tan look with no sparkle and shine this one is for you.
