Girliemom – Two Cents on Cosmetics
I’m hardly the type of gal to walk out the door with at least some lip gloss on. Lipgloss and Mascara are my two major essentials. Even on days when I’m working from home (normally I’m in an office) I get dressed. I feel more professional that way and ultimately I’m more productive.
With each new season I am giddy to stock up on my mew mags so I can learn about all the latest and greatest trends. I don’t necessarily follow trends just because a magazine says so. With cosmetics, and with fashion in general, my guide has always been and will continue to be my inner voice.
As a young girl, my sisters and I would watch our mom apply her makeup with one of those magnified light up mirrors. My sister and I were mesmerized by this daily routine she had that seemed to last way too long. We don’t have that sort of time anymore. The good news is that with all the new products on the market, you can make a huge impact in 5 minutes flat.
Everyone has at least 5 minutes.
For evenings out, you can have fun jazzing things up (note: this may take more than 5 minutes). Many of my favorites come from Laura Mercier whose line I’ve been swearing by since 1999 but I am also a lover of Philosophy, Mally and Senna.
